Several Craighead County committees met Oct. 13 and moved routine items to the full Quorum Court.
At 5:36 p.m. the Transportation Committee, chaired by Justice Steve Cline, received a road work update from Road Superintendent John James and approved two plats for M. Huffman and P. Farmer on a motion by Justice David Tennison, seconded by Justice Garrett Barnes.
The Public Services Committee, chaired by Justice Richard Rogers, voted to send a resolution appointing Jeremy Watson to the Northeast Arkansas Industrial Development Commission (NEAIDC) and a resolution reappointing Kathy Buchanan to the Nursing Center Board of Directors to the full Quorum Court for consideration.
The Finance Committee heard a treasurer’s report from Treasurer Terry McNatt noting expenditures were down by $1.5 million and a tax collection report from Collector Wes Eddington showing collections up 2.6% and delinquent taxes steady at roughly 5% annually. The committee approved an appropriation ordinance to add $10,000 to Fund 3583 (CIP Grant) and forwarded that ordinance to the full Quorum Court on motions recorded in the minutes.
Each committee adjourned after taking the listed actions; the full Quorum Court is scheduled to consider forwarded items at its next meeting.
