The Craighead County Quorum Court voted on Sept. 22 to adopt an ordinance requesting an analysis of consolidating the offices of the county treasurer and tax collector.
The measure was read by title only after a motion by Justice Garrett Barnes, seconded by Justice Darrel Cook. After a roll call, all present voted in favor and the ordinance passed, according to the court minutes. Justice Barnes said he "looks forward to reading the analysis when it comes back."
The ordinance was recorded as a third reading and adopted without recorded opposition. The minutes do not specify a timeline for completion of the requested analysis or the entity that will prepare it; the court will consider the study when it is delivered.
The meeting also included routine committee reports and other resolutions; the court adjourned at 5:55 p.m.
