Trustee Weir moved approval of the report and the motion passed by show of hands, 6–0. The board then passed a motion to extend closed session by 15 minutes to finish outstanding agenda items.
The board had earlier limited closed-session duration to 40 minutes (motion passed 5–0–1) before convening for the safety-and-security discussion. The board cited Texas Government Code § 551.071 for counsel consultations and § 551.074 for personnel deliberations when announcing the session.
