The McKinney Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a contract for Superintendent Sean Pratt on Feb. 16, following a closed-session review and an open-session motion to authorize the board president to execute the agreement.
Trustee Huwaca (speaker S20) moved to approve the contract and the motion was seconded; the board approved the motion by voice vote. No roll-call tally was recorded in the public transcript. Several trustees used the discussion period to highlight district gains under Pratts leadership, citing academic and operational achievements.
Board members praised recent district performance featured earlier in the meeting. One trustee said the executive summary of the superintendents work reflected a team effort across the district; another described Pratt as "approachable" and credited his leadership for navigating rezoning and other recent challenges. In response, the attendee identified in the transcript (speaker S21) thanked the board for its support and called the contract an acknowledgement of the district team's work.
The approval followed the boards earlier closed-session deliberations; the chair said the executed contract will be posted online for public review. The board proceeded to other agenda items after the vote.
