Stafford MSD board hears update on superintendent search; surveys, interviews set for winter

"The ideal superintendent for Stafford Municipal School District is a clear communicator, community oriented leader, and ethical decision maker who brings strong instructional expertise and a bold vision for innovation," Dr. Trevino said.
Board members asked how many survey responses had been collected. Dr. Trevino clarified that the earlier figure referred to 46 parents who had responded, not 46 student responses. He requested the administration's assistance promoting the remaining surveys to students, proposing distribution during homeroom or via the district's communication platforms. A staff member suggested using StudentSquare to reach students and families.
Next steps: Trustees were asked to propose three or four potential interview dates to enable scheduling in January; the board scheduled a follow‑up meeting for Jan. 15 to accommodate the required first hearing within the statutory window and to address items tabled tonight. The consultant said the process could culminate in naming a finalist in early March, followed by the notice period described in the district's timeline.
The board heard the update and did not take formal action on the search itself. The consultant said a fuller superintendent profile and additional data will be presented at a January briefing.
