The consultant said that in the review of stakeholder input and candidate materials, the district should prioritize instructional leaders with experience addressing elementary literacy and numeracy, strong communication practices and the ability to support a positive culture.
The consultant summarized stakeholder feedback collected during community engagement and presented a set of suggested qualities and onboarding recommendations. Dr. Trevino emphasized that selection decisions should center on improving student outcomes through changes in adult practices and committed trustees to the time-intensive interview phase ahead. The board will hold related interview activity and a special scheduling change: the February meeting date was moved to Tuesday, Feb. 17 to accommodate interview logistics.
