The Ripley County Council interviewed three applicants for an open Park board seat — Bryan Franklin, Jake Nuhring and John Hiltenbeitel — and voted to appoint Jake Nuhring on Dec. 15. The motion to appoint Nuhring was moved by Councilman Andrew Decker, seconded by David Tebbing, and carried by the six members present (one absent).
In old business the council discussed the Dog Warden matter and said the committee will next meet Jan. 20, 2026 at 5 p.m. The council also approved Councilman David Tebbing as the council’s representative on the Solid Waste Board by motion (moved by Andrew Decker, seconded by Ron Decker); that motion passed with six votes in favor and one absence.
Why it matters: the Park board appointment fills a local advisory vacancy and the Solid Waste Board appointment designates the council’s representative for intergovernmental solid‑waste matters. The Dog Warden committee will continue developing its recommendations at the January meeting.
The council concluded with routine committee reports and adjourned.
