He said he obtained a grant from the Ball Brothers Foundation to cover most of the cost for a four-week leadership-training series (one day per week) and that the course will cost $50 per participant; the training will be open to the public.
On broadband, Brian reported that "Fishers did sign the contract with Mainstream for the broadband project" and said construction should begin shortly. He also said he was close to finishing a trail-project survey and that the foundation had committed funding of approximately $3,100,000; he estimated the trail would add about 1.3 miles to the city's existing trail network and anticipated construction in spring or early summer with completion expected later in the year.
The council did not take formal votes on the EDC items during the meeting; Brian said he would circulate design documents and keep commissioners updated as state approvals and construction timelines move forward.
