Posey County backs federal Economic Development Area declaration for southwest Indiana

Posey County Commissioners on Jan. 21 voted to support a resolution backing a federal Economic Development Area declaration encompassing Vanderburgh, Posey, Warrick and Gibson counties.
Patrick Hicky of EREP explained the federal declaration would allow the county to access federal economic-development programs for the multi-county district. The board approved the EDA support resolution by a 3-0 vote.
Separately, the board voted to table an EREP agreement without discussion, recording the procedural motion as 3-0.
