Maddox presented tractor bids and recommended two Bane-Welker units (a 2024 Case IH 140A priced at $122,451 and a 2025 Case IH L115 MSL priced at $173,350). Commissioner Rick Woodall moved to accept a pending on-call engineering agreement with Kurdziel Barker Engineering, Inc., subject to review by County Attorney Jim Ensley; the motion passed unanimously.
Representatives Duncan and Miller of CivilCon described a complex, historic, county-line bridge (Bridge 145) and provided a projected permitting and construction timeline estimated at roughly 645 days (about 20 months) under the firm's best-case assumptions. Commissioners asked for additional detail and review before selecting a design approach or contractor.
