The Pike County Board of Commissioners voted Feb. 17 to approve a consulting contract with VS Engineering, Inc. to inspect county bridges as part of a four-phase, four-year cycle.
Highway Office Manager Melanie Britton told the board the inspection contract would begin March 27 and run through April 30, 2031, and that the bridge inspections follow a four-year cycle completed in four phases. The contract sets the maximum payable under the agreement at $558,297.
Commissioner Jeff Nelson moved to approve the contract; Commissioner Ryan Coleman seconded and the motion passed 3-0.
The contract was described as part of routine infrastructure stewardship; no amendments or funding splits were described in the meeting record.
