The LaGrange County Council approved a resolution on Jan. 12 authorizing a $300,000 transfer from the County General Fund to the Health Insurance Fund to cover costs of the county’s self-funded health insurance plan.
Council Member Jeff Campos read Resolution No. 2026-01-12, which states that monthly payroll transfers are insufficient at this time to cover all plan costs; the resolution took effect Jan. 12, 2026. The Council voted to approve the transfer during the regular session.
Separately, the Council approved a set of line-item transfers that reallocated appropriations across County General and Parks & Recreation accounts (motions listed specific decreases and increases by line item). The Council also reviewed and approved legal claims for November 2025 totaling $22,875.00 from the law firm Beers Mallers.
All fiscal motions reported in the minutes were moved, seconded and carried by Council vote during the meeting. The minutes record no roll-call dissent on the resolutions or the legal claims payment.
