Jackson County Council approves up to $4 million in bond proceeds for facility and equipment upgrades

The Jackson County Council voted unanimously Nov. 19 to approve Resolution No. 11, authorizing the appropriation of up to $4,000,000 in general obligation bond proceeds for county facility improvements, vehicle purchases, technology upgrades and equipment.

Brian Thompson, a council member, moved approval of the resolution; Jacquelyn Jasinski seconded. The motion passed with seven yes votes and no opposition.

The resolution lists broad categories of spending that include county facility improvements, replacement vehicles and technology upgrades. The council added the public hearing on the bond proceeds to the agenda before the vote; the hearing closed with no public comment.

The council adopted the resolution during its regular meeting, which President Brady Riley called to order at 8:00 a.m. The council will consider project-level spending and claim schedules at future meetings and during the December claims process, where bond payments were also noted.
