Commissioners amend Rule 11 to allow agenda additions before public comment, schedule manager review, appoint Debbie Franken to library board

On Jan. 14 the Macon County Board of Commissioners approved several procedural and personnel items. County Attorney Eric Ridenour explained a proposed amendment to Rule 11 of the board's Rules of Procedures that would permit additions to the agenda to be made before the public comment period so members of the public may comment on newly added items; Commissioner Shields moved, Commissioner Antoine seconded and the board approved the change unanimously.
Commissioner Josh Young proposed holding annual performance evaluations for the County Manager and County Attorney near the fiscal year end; the board consented to hold the evaluations Jan. 23, 2025, at noon with the HR director present.
On the consent agenda, the board approved routine items including the Dec. 10, 2024 minutes, budget amendments #159-164 and tax releases of $991.60. Commissioner Antoine moved to appoint Debbie Franken to the Macon County Library Board of Trustees to fill a one-seat vacancy; Commissioner Shearl seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
