Grant County Judge Randy Pruitt called a special meeting of the Grant County Quorum Court to order at 6:00 p.m. Thursday at the Grant County Courthouse and led the opening prayer.
The court read Ordinance No. 2026-01, described as "an ordinance establishing the date, time, location and procedural rules of the regular monthly meeting of the Grant County Quorum Court, repealing Ordinance 2025-01." Justice Mike Nevens asked that the ordinance include the wording "and to declare an emergency," a change discussed before the formal vote.
Justice Jason Roshto moved to adopt Ordinance No. 2026-01; Justice Mark Allen seconded. The Quorum Court voted nine in favor, zero opposed. The motion passed and the ordinance was adopted, incorporating the emergency-declaration wording discussed during consideration.
The court announced the next Quorum Court meeting will be held Jan. 26, 2026. With no further business, Justice Paul Drake moved to adjourn; Justice Tony Carder seconded and the court adjourned.
