Judge seeks bids for courthouse sidewalk and retaining wall; road chip-seal project scheduled

County Judge Randy Pruitt told the Quorum Court that crews will work on a roughly 10-mile road stretch and return in about six weeks to chip-seal the surface. He also proposed a Public Safety project to place sidewalks on the west side of the courthouse and to build a retaining wall, estimating the cost at $100,000.
Justice Jason Roshto moved to let bids on the courthouse sidewalk and retaining wall project; Justice Scott Wells seconded. The court voted 9 for, 0 against and the motion passed. No contract award or contractor selection occurred at this meeting; the action authorizes the county to solicit bids.
Next steps recorded in the minutes are for staff to advertise or accept bids under the usual county procurement procedures and return results to the court for award and contract approval.
