Chris Ambrose Grooms was elected mayor by the Dublin City Council during its organizational meeting on Jan. 5, 2026, and Kathy DeRosa was chosen as vice mayor for two-year terms. Council members confirmed both officers by roll call and each took the oath of office during the session.
The council began the evening by swearing in newly elected and re-elected members and then recessed into a short executive session "for the discussion of personnel matters considering the appointment of a public official," a motion the council moved, seconded and approved by roll call. After reconvening, the council nominated and approved Grooms for mayor and DeRosa for vice mayor; Grooms noted he had asked his son to administer the oath.
Council then approved a slate of committee chairs and membership. Highlights read into the record included: Administrative Committee (Chair: Kathy DeRosa; members: Christina Aludo and Amy Cram), Finance Committee (Chair: Christina Aludo; members: Andy Keeler and Wendy Johnson), Public Service Committee (Chair: Amy Cram; members: Dr. Greg Lam and Cathy DeRosa), Community Development Committee (Chair: Andy Keeler; members: Wendy Johnson and Dr. Greg Lam). Other liaison assignments included the Planning and Zoning Commission liaison (Amy Cram), Dublin Arts Council liaison (Andy Keeler), and the Mid-Ohio Regional Planning Commission liaison (Mayor Chris Ambrose Grooms). The roster was approved by unanimous roll call vote.
In closing remarks during the roundtable, council members thanked city staff for recent onboarding work, acknowledged departing members and welcomed the two new council members. Mayor Grooms adjourned the meeting at the conclusion of roundtable comments.
The council recorded unanimous affirmative roll-call votes on the organizational motions and committee assignments.
