"The first time around, we nailed it," the emergency management official said, noting the county's planners received approval from FEMA and the state. He said the county also submitted the 2025 EPRA grant to support hazardous-materials work and has ordered hazmat equipment as part of that funding.
The official outlined several preparedness activities: fire evacuation drills scheduled for Friday across county buildings, participation in the Plover Fire Department open house where the county's hazmat trailer was displayed to the public, regional incident management team training, and attendance at a regional emergency management meeting. "So that's the news I have for this month," he said.
