LEPC discusses mid‑December ammonia drills and PulsePoint notification challenges

"Mid December, we are gonna have to do our the call drills, correct, for, for, like, ammoniums, for ammonia releases?" the committee member asked. Members responded that a national requirement had put agencies on notice to call NTRC/CERC and LEPC, and staff said they would look into the drill schedule and procedures.
Committee members raised a separate concern about PulsePoint and CAD notifications: when dispatch posts a CAD ticket for a drill it can appear to the public as an actual structure fire or incident. "With PulsePoint, we're having a very difficult time ... people think that there's an actual structure fire," one member said, noting the difficulty of marking alerts as drills because CAD outputs limit the available display fields. Members agreed that staff should coordinate with dispatch to find ways to reduce public confusion when drills run and to ensure appropriate public notification channels are used.
The committee did not set a formal deadline for dispatch to produce a solution but indicated the drill was likely to occur in the month and that Bob and staff would investigate.
