City finalizes Riverview Village closing; public improvements to go to bid in early 2026

A staff speaker said the city is finalizing public improvement plans with the expectation to get them out for bid in early 2026 and to be under construction later in that year. The Cohatch team, which will receive conveyed property per the agreement, has started permit work and has submitted a foundation permit for the new building and adjacent area.
Staff said the city has been consulting masonry experts and will attempt to preserve as many of the original stones as possible or find complementary materials that will match the original work once allowed to weather. “The masonry expert basically told us that once they're allowed to weather a little bit, they've gained that patina and you won't be able to tell,” a staff member said.
No formal board action was taken at the meeting; staff framed the announcement as project progress and said permit and bidding steps will follow the standard public improvement review and procurement schedule.
