Portage County LEPC approves minutes and new UWSP emergency manager; schedules next meeting

Tyler Esquire, introduced as the new emergency manager at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point (UWSP), gave a brief personal background including education in agribusiness and emergency management, five years in law enforcement and six years in the U.S. Army. The committee moved to approve his membership; the motion was seconded and the chair declared, "Motion carried."
The emergency coordinator reported that closeout reporting for two fiscal-year 2025 grants (an EPCA grant and a hazmat response equipment grant) has been completed and submitted in eGrants. No public comments were registered during the public-comment period.
The committee set its next meeting for May 7, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., likely to be held in person.
The meeting then adjourned by voice vote.
