Cusseta‑Chattahoochee work session updates: Friendship Road paved, payment system to launch Dec. 1; calendar and appointments to be added to Dec. 2 agenda

Vice‑Chairman Timothy Biddle convened a Nov. 24 work session of the Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County at 9 a.m. County Manager Thomas Weaver provided operational updates and proposed items for the Dec. 2 regular meeting agenda.
Weaver told commissioners that Public Works completed paving Friendship Road and is awaiting striping and laboratory sample results; Two Rivers will handle striping for Liberty Hill and Riverbend roads. He said Public Works finished a storage‑building slab and City Hall demolition is complete, while the Water Department repaired three small leaks and finished work on Well #4 on Patty Drive pending sample results. Weaver also said the county will switch to a new payment portal starting Dec. 1 and that Xpressbill Pay will no longer be used.
The work session reviewed several items to add to the Dec. 2 agenda: three scheduling options for the 2026 calendar of commission work sessions, the 2026 employee holiday calendar, reappointment of Thomas Weaver to the Two Rivers board and an ACCG retirement‑plan resolution. The session voted at 9:16 a.m. to enter executive session for land‑related matters, reconvened at 9:41 a.m. and adjourned at 9:42 a.m.
Next steps: staff will place the discussed items on the Dec. 2 agenda and complete follow‑up tasks for road striping, water sampling and the new payments portal.
