The Village of Ada council voted March 3 to approve three claims registers, a utility adjustment and several routine items as the fiscal officer warned of weaker income-tax receipts.
The meeting opened at 6:30 p.m., and Mayor Retterer and six council members approved an amended agenda that added claims register 2026-5C and delayed two ordinances until a Streets Committee meeting. Council then approved the minutes from its Feb. 17 regular meeting on a 6-0 roll call.
Council approved claims register 2026-5A in the amount of $60,842.15 (motion by Mr. Rowe, second by Mr. Campbell), and claims register 2026-5B for $69,074.17 (motion by Ms. Mason, second by Mr. Rowe); both passed on 6-0 roll calls. Claims register 2026-5C for $56,090.25 was approved on a motion by Mr. Beck, seconded by Mr. Campbell; the roll call showed five ayes with Mr. Rowe abstaining.
Council also approved a utility-billing adjustment for 212 Kingswood Dr., Apt A, in the amount of $145.88; the adjustment was reviewed and accepted during the meeting. Buildings & Grounds Chair Mr. Beck moved to approve a request from Ada High School seniors to hang banners from May 1 to June 30, 2026; the motion passed on a 6-0 roll call. Village Administrator Amanda Sears requested authorization to dispose of a large table in the administrative assistant’s office; council approved the disposal unanimously.
Fiscal Officer Patty Navin told council that bank reconciliations were available for review and that income tax receipts through February showed an approximate 11% decline compared with the prior reporting period, a figure Navin presented as part of routine financial reporting. The meeting record does not specify a financial plan to address the decline.
The council adjourned at 7:08 p.m.
