Board hears Klickm proposal for groundwater podcast and outreach but defers action pending budget clarity

Robert Redden of Klickm presented a proposal to develop a podcast and a social-media marketing campaign to educate the public about groundwater and regional water challenges during the Reeves County Groundwater Conservation District meeting on Jan. 15, 2026.
Several board members said they liked the concept as an outreach complement to planned classroom space in the district’s new building. Director Nancy Martinez said the proposal aligned with long-term goals and that she preferred Option B (noting she is not an active X/Twitter user). Director Cecil Lee said he was not opposed to social media but that the district is incurring significant expenses related to the building purchase and protesting produced-water permits; he recommended the vendor return during FY2027 budget preparation. Director Ginny Barmore echoed budget concerns but also supported the idea. No motion was made and no action was taken.
Directors asked that staff bring the proposal back for consideration when the district prepares its FY2027 budget and after building renovation costs become clearer.
