Fulton County to replace 20-year-old dispatch clocks, renew regional support and approve two-year hazmat agreement

Fulton County Commissioners unanimously approved replacement dispatch clocks, a regional support contract and a two-year hazmat-team agreement at their Dec. 23 meeting.

EMA/911 Director Brian Barton told the board that the dispatch clocks currently in service are more than 20 years old and “are in dire need of replacement.” Barton said the county has implemented the “Pre Alert” system and has distributed related information to local fire departments as part of ongoing training and readiness work.

Commissioner Randy H. Bunch moved to approve and execute a ComPros quote to purchase and install two dispatch clocks, including hardware and installation, in the amount of $4,940.00; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute the 2026 Mission Critical Partners Regional Support Contract for Professional Services; the board recorded that the contract is fully grant funded and approved it unanimously.

The board also approved a two-year Hazmat Team agreement with McCUTCHEON Enterprises, Inc., with payment amounts of $2,500 for FY2026 and $7,500 for FY2027. The motions were recorded as passed with all in favor.

Why it matters: replacing aging dispatch hardware is aimed at maintaining 911 operations, and the regional support contract and hazmat agreement formalize the county’s readiness and intergovernmental support arrangements. The Mission Critical contract is noted as fully grant funded in the meeting record.
