Garfield County commissioners approve contracts, reports and multiple appropriations at Aug. 19 meeting

The Garfield County Board of County Commissioners approved a series of routine contracts, reports and cash fund appropriations at its Aug. 19 meeting in Enid.

Commissioner David Loesch moved to approve a contract with Eastern Oklahoma Youth Services for juvenile detention services at the Pittsburg County Regional Juvenile Detention Center; the motion passed unanimously. Vice-Chairman Clarence Maly moved to approve a contract between the Garfield County Health Department and Grant Clayton Bajo; that motion also passed unanimously.

The Board approved Circuit Engineering District #8 invoice #424294 for bridge inspection services (service date June 17, 2024) and authorized the chairman to sign the Board of Prisoners report submitted by the Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority for July 2024.

Officials also approved a Letter of Approval for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to use the courthouse lawn and gazebo on Sept. 28 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., and approved Garfield County Sheriff credit card expenditures totaling $57.61.

The meeting recorded multiple Cash Fund Estimates of Needs and Requests for Appropriation, including: Use Tax-Jail Share $32,653.40; Jail Sales Tax $216,987.28; Rural Fire-Use Tax $13,060.44; Rural Fire-Sales Tax $86,788.84; Highway Unrestricted $427,899.42; Highway-CBRI $42,344.97; and Highway-CIRB $79,185.33. All appropriations were approved by the board.

The commissioners examined and approved purchase orders and claims that included several large items: Patriot Safety Supply (capital outlay) $23,823.20; Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority detention building $84,671.16; and Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority ARPA allocation $142,377.00.
