Applicant Phillip Spiller said the couple currently lives in Columbus and cannot afford to build a house, so they plan to place a mobile home on a concrete slab on the property. "We can't afford to build a house; it's cheaper to place a mobile home, but we want to put it on a concrete slab," Spiller told the board.
Neighbor Mark Henson said he had "nothing against the Spillers," but opposed mobile homes generally, noting that they "depreciate" and, when vacant, make the county look unattractive. Planning and Zoning's recommendation and the house‑site checklist were discussed; an adjacent property owner also texted concerns about CUVA status, but the chair said the neighbor's parcel would not be developed.
