Cusseta‑Chattahoochee commission approves tractor purchase, adds bank signer; tables garbage rate

On May 6 the board unanimously adopted a proclamation honoring the late Milton “Wade” Coleman for his years of municipal and county service. Commissioners also unanimously approved a bid from Carson Brothers to purchase a batwing tractor (a Carson Brothers quote lists a 2023 New Holland Workmaster 95 at $40,681) using TSPLOST funds; Commissioner Biddle made the motion, which Commissioner Douglas seconded.
The board passed a resolution authorizing County Manager Thomas Weaver as an authorized signer on the Unified Government's Ozark Bank accounts (approved by motion and unanimous vote).
Commissioner Frost moved, and Commissioner Hoyte seconded, to table consideration of a proposed garbage rate increase so staff can research the cost of bringing garbage collection back in‑house; the motion passed unanimously.
