Commissioners approve vehicle leases, software subscription, grant and equipment purchases

At the Feb. 10 meeting the Hendricks County Board of Commissioners approved several departmental contracts and purchases aimed at equipment renewal and operational support.
Sheriff Jack Sadler presented Enterprise Lease Contracts to lease vehicles as part of a 10-year plan to keep the sheriff’s fleet newer and safer; the board approved the contracts unanimously. Sadler also asked for a LETAC Policies360 Law Enforcement Policies software subscription for $18,300 to support merit policy development; that contract was approved unanimously 3-0-0.
Engineer John Ayers presented and the board approved an INDOT Railroad Grade Crossing Fund Grant Agreement for $11,737 to fund signage and pavement-marking improvements at railroad crossings. Ayers also requested purchase approval for a Canon large-format scanner/printer priced at $10,695; he confirmed he has budgeted funds for the purchase and the board approved the request. Ayers presented an Agreed Findings and Judgment to acquire a portion of parcel 32-13-15-300-006.000-009 from Ronald and Kristi Endres for $42,500 as right-of-way for Bridge No. 136; the board approved that agreement as presented.
All motions listed in the minutes recorded unanimous 3-0-0 votes with Commissioner Bob Gentry frequently moving and Commissioner Brad Whicker seconding. The approvals complete routine procurement and right-of-way acquisition steps; contracts and purchases will move to implementation or execution by the relevant county offices.
