State law SB433 prompts biannual reviews; county veterans office meets standards, official says

An Indiana Department of Veteran Affairs District Service Officer told the Hendricks County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 10 that state law SB433 establishes accreditation standards for Veterans Service Officers and that Hendricks County’s veterans office meets those standards.
Josh Tolen, the district service officer, reported that SB433 implements state accreditation for VSOs and said Hendricks County’s VSOs "meet and exceed the standards" he reviewed. Tolen said he will submit biannual reports to the Commissioners to document whether the office continues to meet or exceed expectations. Commissioners thanked Tolen and expressed appreciation for the work of county Veterans Service Officer Billy Staley.
