County Engineer Danny Hollander presented a proposal to replace a plow damaged in a prior light snow. The county's insurer paid $22,389 toward the loss; Hollander recommended purchasing a SnowDogg 11‑foot reversible plow with a parallel lift system at $23,540 plus freight rather than a higher‑priced Henke Road Warrior. Commissioners unanimously approved the purchase to be paid from Highway funds.
Hollander also presented the Highway Department's December 2025 monthly crew report and recent weekly crew activity: plowed and salted roads, 11,298 truck miles driven, 3,235 gallons of fuel used, 796 tons of salt used and 522 hours of overtime. He informed the board that the county will advertise a Notice to Bidders for one 2026 or 2027 tandem truck with snow equipment on Feb. 4 and Feb. 11, with bids to be opened Feb. 23, 2026; commissioners approved issuing the notice.
All motions related to the purchase and bid notice were approved unanimously.
