Fulton County adopts 2026 budget with no tax increase

Fulton County commissioners unanimously adopted the proposed 2026 budget and approved the county's Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution without raising taxes.
Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and CFO Mike Lamb presented the proposed budget and told commissioners there were no changes since the public advertisement. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the 2026 budget as presented; the motion carried with all in favor. Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve and execute Resolution 8 of 2025, the Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution, which the board approved with no tax increase for fiscal year 2026.
Commissioners also approved the December 2025 Pension Report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston. In a separate motion, the board approved an agreement to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for FY 2026; the formal appointment of Keller Engineer will occur at the Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026.
The county recorded total accounts payable for the meeting at $112,913.87 across funds, and officials said next procedural steps include filing budget documents and proceeding with vendor retention as approved.
