Cusseta‑Chattahoochee commissioners approve multiple local bids, projects and an RVRC appointment

The Commission of the Unified Government of Cusseta‑Chattahoochee County voted unanimously at its Oct. 7 meeting to advance a slate of local contracts and projects.
Motions carried included authorizing bids for resurfacing Riverbend Road and Liberty Hill Road, accepting the only bid for the Riverbend fishing dock from Wahoo Dock, awarding a storage building slab contract to Chattahoochee Concrete with the building to be supplied by North Carolina Carports, and accepting Chattahoochee Concrete's lower bid for a City Hall welcome center refurbishment. Commissioners also approved concrete, fencing and building contracts for additional kennel runs at the Cusseta Dog Pound (Rock Solid Construction, United Fencing, McGuire Buildings).
The board declared two county buildings surplus (properties on King Street and the former fire station on Fire Tower Road) and said it would attempt to preserve the concrete slab at the old fire station for potential reuse. The commission also approved reappointment of Rob Marion to the River Valley Regional Commission for a two‑year term beginning Oct. 7, 2025 and expiring Oct. 7, 2027.
All votes reported in the minutes were unanimous. Commissioners did not record extended debate in the minutes for these items; motions and seconds were given by commissioners and carried by voice vote.
