Boca Raton officials gave the Community Redevelopment Agency an update Tuesday on a package of downtown mobility efforts that includes the Boca Connect on‑demand service, a limited autonomous‑shuttle pilot and an East–West connectivity study looking at pedestrian crossings across the railroad tracks.
Public Works and Engineering Director Zach Beard told commissioners Boca Connect exceeded roughly 3,500 total passengers in November and has seen about a 6.5‑times increase in ridership since its June 2024 launch, with wait times averaging about 7 minutes 45 seconds. He said staff hold a 10‑minute headway target and aim for a 95% connection rate, though connection rates have sometimes dipped into the mid‑80s during peak demand.
