Commission signs off on RAISE grant application and resolution for submittal

Big Horn County commissioners approved a resolution and delegated signature authority Jan. 21 to allow staff to resubmit an updated application for a RAISE (Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity) grant.
Road & Bridge representative Bridges told the commission the department is preparing a resubmittal and asked for approval of a resolution and signature now, with ratification planned at the Feb. 4 commission meeting. Commissioner Dave Neves moved to approve both the application and the resolution for signature and ratification; the motion was seconded and carried.
The commission’s action allows staff to meet grant deadlines while the board retains final review at its next meeting. Bridges also discussed related project logistics and potential sources of millings and chip-seal timing with WYDOT staff.
Next steps: Staff will complete the RAISE submittal and present the final application and resolution for ratification at the Feb. 4 meeting.
