Parke County authorizes sheriff to seek JRAC grants for license-plate readers and National Night Out

The Parke County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 20 authorized Sheriff Jason Frazier to seek two grants from the Indiana Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC): a $9,000 award to support a 2026 License Plate Reader camera project and an $8,000 award for the 2026 Parke County National Night Out.
Susan Kramer presented the requests on behalf of the sheriff. Dan Collom moved to authorize Sheriff Frazier to apply for both grants; Bruce Hartman seconded and the motion carried unanimously. The authorization allows the sheriff's office to prepare and submit grant applications but does not constitute grant acceptance or final award.
No contingencies, matching-fund requirements or proposed locations for new cameras were specified in the meeting minutes. Any awarded funds and project details would return to commissioners for acceptance and implementation steps if required by county policy.
