Glacier County extends sanitary services contract with RCJ Enterprises through June 30, 2026

The Glacier County Board of Commissioners approved an amendment on Nov. 17, 2025, extending the termination date of the sanitary services contract with RCJ Enterprises to June 30, 2026.
Mike Kitson, who appeared in the meeting to represent the contract, and Ron Anderson of RCJ (participating by phone) discussed a typographical error in the draft and agreed to correct Section 5 to reflect the amended termination date. "The term of this agreement and previous approved agreement shall be from 07/01/2025 terminating on 06/30/2026," Kitson said when explaining the corrected language. Kitson and Anderson both said the amendment would not affect the contract price.
Commissioners and contract representatives discussed contract-management practices. Commissioners emphasized the value of fixed term dates and periodic review to avoid the risk of "rubber stamping" contracts year after year; one commissioner noted auditors prefer clear term dates rather than open-ended automatic renewals. Anderson said he plans to bring the next contract cycle forward in March or April to allow for negotiation on any raises or term changes.
A motion to approve the extension was made and seconded; the board approved the amendment and noted the chair must sign to finalize the contract.
