Planning Director Josh Watkins explained the current policy’s spacing rules were written for 30‑foot wooden poles and are not appropriate for shorter decorative poles. Commissioner Helms moved to adopt the recommended revisions; the motion passed 5 to 0.
On the alley/right‑of‑way matter, Resolution #2022‑10 directs staff to notify affected property owners by mail, publish notice in the newspaper for four consecutive weeks and place two signs on the property; the resolution also sets a public hearing on July 14, 2022 at 6:00 p.m. A motion to approve the resolution passed 5 to 0.
Both actions were recorded in the minutes as unanimous (5 to 0) votes. The town will proceed with the outreach and notification steps required before the scheduled July hearing on the right‑of‑way closure.
