The Rome-Floyd County Development Authority approved its December 2025 financial report and received updates on new business prospects before moving into executive session on Jan. 20 in Rome.
Doc Kibler presented the December financial report, saying the authority posted net income of $11,456.35 and a balance-sheet total of $17,959,973.18. Kibler moved to approve the financial report; the minutes record that Kibler, Evie McNiece, McDaniel, Watters, Ryan Miller and Jimmy Byars voted in favor.
Spencer Hogg reported activity and prospecting work: five new requests for information, three company visits and four projects nearing announcement. He said the authority will continue focusing on advanced manufacturing, medical and aerospace sectors and invited members to a “Roam Around Rome” marketing dinner on Feb. 26 to host project managers from the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Georgia Power, Georgia EMC and the Georgia Department of Community Affairs.
The board voted to enter executive session to discuss real estate and litigation; after deliberation the board voted to exit executive session and adjourned. The minutes do not record further public details about the topics discussed in executive session.
