Finance committee approves ordinance to amend 2025 budget, moves multiple small transfers and appropriations

Garland County's Special Finance Committee on Feb. 9 approved an ordinance to amend the 2025 Garland County Budget Ordinance O-24-33 to anticipate revenue, appropriate, and transfer funds to cover under-appropriated amounts in several personal-services line items and to make two specific appropriations. Chairwoman McGrew introduced the ordinance; Vice-Chair Brown moved a do-pass recommendation and Justice Peters seconded. The motion passed without opposition.

The ordinance recorded the following transfers and appropriations specified in the minutes: $3,793.49 transferred from the County General Fund to various budgets to cover under-appropriated personal services; $2,285.58 transferred from the Treasurer's Automation Fund to the Treasurer's Budget for retirement matching; $1,794.37 transferred from the Solid Waste Fund to the Solid Waste Budget to cover two personal services line items; $15.00 transferred from the Emergency 911 Fund to the 911 Budget for Other Fringe Benefits; $91.60 transferred from the Solid Waste - Stormwater Fund to the Environmental Inspections Budget for two personal services line items; $6.09 transferred from the Drug Task Force Investigator Grant Fund to the Prosecuting Attorney's Budget for three personal services line items; and $6.04 transferred from the Peer Recovery Specialist Grant Fund to the Circuit Court Division I Budget for two personal services line items.

The ordinance also recorded requested appropriations of $19,469.54 in the Employee Insurance Fund to the County Judge's Budget to pay the remaining balance of 2025 health care claims and $5,000.00 in the Animal Control Fund to the Animal Control Budget to pay remaining 2025 spay and neuter vouchers.
