Fulton County approves $63,800 in state grants for adult probation and acknowledges retention stipend plan

Fulton County commissioners unanimously authorized two state grants for Adult Probation on Dec. 9, approving an Intermediate Punishment Treatment Grant for $35,000 and a Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant for $28,800.
Chief Probation Officer Dan Miller presented both grant applications. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to authorize Commissioner Randy H. Bunch to sign the Intermediate Punishment Treatment Grant for $35,000; Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to authorize Commissioner Bunch to sign the Continuing County Adult Probation/Parole Grant for $28,800. Both motions passed with all commissioners recorded as voting in favor.
The board also acknowledged a Retention Efforts Letter from Dan Miller proposing a stipend funded from the monthly supervision fee retained in a restricted account; the minutes record the board’s acknowledgment but do not record a separate appropriation or implementation schedule. The stipend would be administered by the President Judge for the Adult Probation Department according to the letter presented.
