The Claiborne County Commission on Jan. 28 approved several actions to add private roads to the county-maintained system and adopted the county's 2019 road list.
Resolutions recorded as 2018-081 (Hummingbird Hill) and 2018-085 (Jeffers Lane) were approved on third and final readings with roll-call tallies recorded as 21–0. Resolution 2018-099 (Baylor Lane) was advanced on second reading with a 21–0 roll-call vote; the record states the county would maintain Baylor Lane only to the cemetery (approximately 0.4 of a mile).
The commission also approved Resolution 2019-003, the required annual County Road List submitted by the Claiborne County Highway Department and Road Superintendent Ronnie Pittman. The resolution, approved in regular session, will take effect upon passage.
The resolutions cite Road Superintendent and 911 Director approvals where applicable; property owners named in the road resolutions include Guy Evans, Gary Powers, Michael Hensley and Charlotte Ramsey. The transcript records the formal motion and the roll-call outcomes for these items.
