He described proposals for parking hubs and singled out the MARQ garage near Royal Palm Plaza as an example where nighttime public parking could free daytime spaces for businesses.
Wigtor highlighted Boca Connect, the city’s on‑demand shuttle pilot, saying ridership is increasing and noting a $2 fare. "You can leave your car at home if you're going anywhere downtown within a 2 mile radius," he said. The CRA has also been testing an autonomous‑vehicle sensor vehicle on runs around Majner Park and plans to expand to Royal Palm Plaza in a second phase.
On street design, Wigtor said staff has been evaluating a demonstration on Meisner Boulevard to reduce lane widths to one lane each way with a protected bike lane; he described the plan as a pilot that could be reverted if it does not work. He urged attention to aging subsurface infrastructure—pipes and lift stations about 60 years old—and said TIF dollars could support projects that improve drainage, safety and multimodal access.
The CRA did not take new formal action during the meeting but encouraged residents to meet with staff for deeper dialogue on specific projects.
