County Engineer Mark LeBrun told the Pine County Board on March 3 that a redetermination of benefits for Judicial Ditch 6 (JD 6) found additional properties in Chisago County draining into JD 6. Because those properties benefit from the ditch, Resolution 2026-08 would add Chisago County to the Joint County Drainage Authority; Isanti County will remain the lead entity.
LeBrun said the Joint County Ditch Authority is reviewing properties and planning improvements; properties in Royalton Township that benefit are likely to see assessments to cover improvements. Chair Mohr will continue as Pine County’s representative to the joint authority.
Chair Mohr moved to approve Resolution 2026-08, with Commissioner Steve Hallan seconding. The motion passed by roll call 5-0.
The resolution confirms and ratifies the intercounty drainage authority membership and selection of members to fill vacancies and designates the majority county. The board did not set assessment amounts at the meeting; any assessments and construction plans will be addressed through the Joint County Drainage Authority’s process.
