Irvine resident asks Orange County to recommend disc-golf course in county parks

Matt Page, a resident of Irvine, asked the Orange County Board of Supervisors to recommend that OC Parks work with the community to identify a safe location for a full-length disc-golf course within county parkland. Page said disc golf is low-cost to install and maintain, supports recreation across age groups, and suggested Mason Regional Park, Irvine Regional Park and Laguna Niguel Park as possible sites.
"A well designed course is an extension of the existing landscape," Page said, arguing that a course would expand outdoor access and could be recouped financially through events. The board did not take action on the request during the meeting; Page presented his suggestion during the public-comment period.
