Commissioners said the proclamation was intended to recognize the contributions of residents with developmental disabilities and encourage community inclusion.
The proclamation, which the board authorized by motion, does not commit county funds; it is a formal observance and public recognition. The event brought program staff, clients and family members into the commissioners' office to highlight local services and to encourage awareness and outreach throughout Fulton County.
Commissioners took no separate legislative action tied to the proclamation at the meeting. The county’s Human Services office remains the primary contact for follow-up and local program coordination.
