The commission reviewed two administrative resolutions. Resolution No. 2521 would designate county holidays for calendar year 2026 (including New Year’s Day; Martin Luther King Jr. Day; President’s Day; Memorial Day; Juneteenth observed June 19; Independence Day observed July 3; Labor Day; Columbus Day; Veterans Day; Thanksgiving; Heritage Day; and Christmas Day). Staff noted that employees working shifts on those dates will be compensated according to applicable union contracts and shift rules.
Resolution No. 2522 would set the county commission’s regular meeting calendar for 2026: business meetings at 6 p.m. on the first and third Tuesdays and work sessions on the second and fourth Tuesdays; fifth Tuesdays would be reserved only for special meetings, consistent with MCA 7-5-2122. Both resolutions were placed on the agenda for formal action.
