Mike Marker, the county’s noxious-weed coordinator, told commissioners he plans to apply for the 2026 Noxious Weed Trust Fund Special County Reservation Grant, a state program intended to supplement (not replace) local weed-control funding. He said funding is set at $7,500 per county and historically has been used for wages and benefits. “The application due is due by 01/06/2026,” Marker said.
The commission treated this as a routine annual application and agreed to include it on the formal agenda for action as needed.
