Supervisors praised Kim’s leadership on fiscal management, homelessness programs, the civic center, juvenile facilities and other county projects. "You have been a rock for this county," the chair told Kim. Multiple supervisors described Kim as a steady, professional leader who trained and supported departments across the government.
Kim thanked the board and staff in brief remarks, saying he was humbled by the recognition and looked forward to spending time with family and his team over the coming weeks. The board presented a resolution and invited Kim to speak; the resolution congratulated him for "exemplary contributions and leadership" and wished him well in retirement.
The meeting closed after additional adjournments in memory of local residents; the board set its next regular meeting for July 23, 2024.
