Commission approves DPHHS MOU for on-site rapid STI testing and renews WIC task order

The Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Commission unanimously approved public-health agreements with the state that expand local testing and maintain federal nutrition services.
Lauren of Anaconda-Deer Lodge County Public Health described a memorandum of agreement with the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) that allows county public-health staff to access STI treatments at 340B pharmacy rates, order free rapid STI screening supplies from DPHHS, and request reimbursement for certain uninsured individuals when tests are performed. “It allows us to access STI treatments for at 340 B pharmacy rates... We are eligible to order free rapid STI screenings from DPHHS,” Lauren said. Commissioners noted the local need to address sexually transmitted infections and moved to approve the agreement.
Separately, the commission also approved a task order to the master WIC contract with the Montana DPHHS for Deer Lodge County WIC services, covering the period tied to the master contract (effective to 06/30/2026) in the amount of $71,617. Lauren said the program retains broad bipartisan support.
Both items were approved by motion and recorded as passed; no changes to service delivery were announced at the meeting beyond the ability to order supplies and seek reimbursement under the MOU.
